I had the same thing with NLA canvas, too short at the back corner. I was wondering about undoing the seam at the back & getting someone to add a bit of canvas to fill in the gap, probably not worth the effort though. I then bought a Schofield canvas, but I don't like the colour, too yellow :-/ It's been 2 years since I took the original canvass out, about time I sorted it out. I am buying a new orange westie canvas towards the end of March and will probably go for one sold by the bus-ok.Has anyone else fitted one of their's ?
Be careful of the tax man right now if shipping from the EU it's a bit messy and might add to the cost. My poptop must of been one of the good ones still no complaints . Treadfromthedead
My 72 canvas is from the states and is really heavy tan canvas. Not sure where it’s from but much heavier than the old jk one. NLA do brilliant repro crossover only laminate. Spot on and I’m not sure if anyone else sells it.
I’m still yet to fit the one I got from Rolf ( van der can’t remember) about 15 years ago made by the same westfalian virgin seamstresses using original material .. cost a fair bit back then but it’ll get fitted one day .. it’s the correct colour as well
I fitted an NLA westy roof canvas and am very pleased with it. It was the more expensive one which happened to be on offer on ebay I think it was. I also ordered a sliding door card from them which warped very quickly - I raised it with them and they sent out a set of clips FOC which seemed to hold it much better and it's been fine since - perhaps I've been lucky, but they seem OK in my experience.
Quick question on this thread please to save starting a whole new thread .Any idea if this type of staple gun will be powerful enough to use for replacing the pop top canvas or will I have to buy a more powerful and expensive air operated one .Thank you
there’s a few types, I bought 2 and found the less robust one wouldn’t get through the plastic tac strip so I bought the extra manly one

I've not attempted a roof canvas replacement, but I've recently repaired a Lloyd Loom wicker chair using a £20 Argos electric stapler. It's been great stapling into hard wood where a hand stapler similar to the Draper one wouldn't do it. Well for £20 I will give it a go and if successful I will advertise it at a extraordinary high price on The Late Bay as a genuine VW stapler especially for the late Westfalia models . Can I start the bidding at £70 with a fixed reserve of £200 . Judging by some of the prices occasionally on here I may just get it .
Just got round to order a Bus ok orange rear hinge poptop with three windows and currently not available .Any idea who can sell one. ? I would rather pay extra for a real good quality one and just do the job once . Thank you
