  1. hi well this is cr@p..bought a roof canvas from NLA Vw and its awful! too short at the front and long at the back...Also I put it up for a couple of days as I`ve been working and its faded already!
Anyone got any experience of their canvases

  2. Mines been on 3 years and its still fantastic. It was the more expensive one, the size was if I'm being super critical about 5mm to long at the front (low end).

  3. No experience of the canvas. But I do have their bunk. It’s faded a touch in the sun but seems decent stuff.
Give them a call with your concerns. I don’t sense they are tat pedlars

  4. Last year @Robo and I tried to fit this one from NLA https://nlavw.com/roof/27-vw-t2-early-bay-roof-canvas-3-windows-in-orange.html
It was to short and also while fitting the zip broke on the main window

I've just had this one fitted https://www.bus-ok.de/Westfalia-Roo...inging-3-window-orange-OEM-partnr-231070703-R
Graeme at Midland prototype bay fitted it for me. Here are a couple of pics of it fitted on my van.

I'm really happy with it, I can also recommend Graeme for his workmanship and help.

A slightly worrying trend with NLA here.

I got a set of hoops and slats from NLA for my crewcab. The steel hoops went together fine and all the brackets lined up correctly.

However the wooden slats were drilled incorrectly. There was no way they would line up and fit.

I contacted NLA and they said thanks for the feedback and they would inform the wood cutters.

No apology and no offer of any discount - which would have been nice.

I spoke to them in person at last years Volksworld and tried to haggle over a canvas cover but they weren’t having it.

It’s a lot to shell out if it doesn’t fit and their customer support is a bit pants.

Hope you have better luck with them sorting your roof canvas.

  6. I had their replica westfalia rnr bed hinges and they didn't work properly. Had to do so bits of grinding to them to get the little locking cams to sit in to place properly.

Same as above when i complained - "thanks for letting us know"

I initially welcomed their commitment and enthusiasm to getting some of the more unusual stuff replicated.
However, they seem to have the typical aftermarket mentality towards price and quality. Some of the stuff we've had recently had been appalling. I know @pkrboo has also had issues and on occasion has found them to be more expensive for some items that he could have got elsewhere and of better quality.
    Shame really...

Based on comments made above, has anyone used NLA VW seat covers front and rear as I plan to use theirs as replacements when we reupholster Major.

    Any feedback is gratefully received.

  9. Hi brought one of there canvas roofs at Busfest 2019 just tried fitting it but same problem short at the front and to long at rear. I have contacted NLA somebody called Adam got back wanted to know what show i brought it at 3 days later nothing no reply. The uphostery guy who just delivered my seats and i ask him what i was doing wrong he thinks they have fitted the sides upside down probably made cheaply in china dont advise anybody to buy these they wont fit. now i need to spend more money any advise on which is best fit canvas roofs

  10. I have been disappointed with most of what I bought from them, sadly. I have put them on the last resort list now.

I have heard good reports of the Wolfsburg West roof canvas, available from Scholfield's.

  11. I've had same experience with NLA unfortunately.

I had a foam seat/bed set bought for me as a gift and the foam completely fell apart. I took the covers off and it literally crumbled in my hands!

I phoned Adam and he was so incredibly rude it was frankly shocking. Ultimately he blamed me for putting the foam into my Bus where temperatures exceeded the foam specification! Something to do with the petroleum make up?! Obviously not fit for purpose.

He added that despite it being delivered to my home address because I didn't buy it then he wouldn't honour any warranty claim. I politely advised that even gifts are covered in law particularly when you can demonstrate proof of purchase. He tried to sell me a new set and just continued to be rude so I removed that junk and put back the original Westy foam.

The hammock bed sagged by day 2. I've reviewed his Westy material elsewhere on TLB. I'd go to Heritage for that.

The only item I would recommend is the smaller part and fixings for the Westy table. That seems fine several years on. I wouldn't buy from him again though as his customer service is Marmite.

Crumbling foam was rotting in a warehouse before you bought it. On my boat, it takes about 5 to 10 years of abuse and heat to fail..

  13. Don't stand for being fobbed off. Insist on a full refund as goods are not fit for purpose

  14. If suppliers don't issue refunds for faulty products, then contact your card company and ask for a full refund/the transaction to be reversed.

This applies to debit card transactions as well as Credit Cards

    Brilliant, thanks.

I have been comparing VWH with NLA, based on the images shown on both websites, they are the same ones.

I have got a sample of NLA material and, as you have found, it feels nice and soft which is what I liked about it. What I did wonder is who Schofields use to supply their covers.

  16. As far as I know, these are Wolfsburg West

That's good to hear, thanks Andrew!

  18. Best to double check it's WW, but it's the WW one that got the best reviews when I did a straw poll of restored Westys at Stamford Hall last year.
