Jewellers loupes are fantastic for finding those really irritating invisible splinters in your finger tips

  4. Each to there own i say

I got permission to camp in a woodland for a few days at a time whenever i wanted
    It was fantastic i thought
Being able to be alone among nature swinging in my hammock and just having myself to look after and having time to spend with my thoughts

The farmers mrs used to pop down 3 times a day with food and drink and just to check if i was ok
They couldent get there head around why i would do that when i had a perfectly good house, fire, bed at home

Different stroke for different folks as long as no one is harming anyone else then why not?

Top catch if he has a job. You live your life, he looks at moss and doesn't bother you?

I'll come clean. One of my best friends from way back is obsessed by botany. Really! He got a 1st degree, but attended zero lectures because he already knew it all.

But he's also a mad bugger, I walked Pennine way with him, he makes fireworks. You can't judge anyone on just one aspect of their personality, unless you look hard enough to be sure that's all there is.

You could try and go mouldy? Moss/mould - same sort of thing?

  16. I had to look...... And yep there is forums for moss appreciatives.... There's proberbly a thread saying someone met a strange man who spends all his free time cutting rust out of an old camper, what a weirdo

Us lichen enthusiasts look down on Moss fanciers if being honest.....it's so obvious and new......you have to work for lichen, earn it.

    And as for Mold watchers....

I'll give him your address. He's now an alcoholic in a deep depression, never married, no kids, so maybe Woody was right.
I'm going to try and drag him up the Pennine way again if he's still alive by the time I can find the 3 weeks needed. His dad was a Psychiatrist who made a great job of bringing up his children. 4 brothers - eldest just died of alcohol addiction just before Christmas, youngest died of same 5 years ago found on pavement in Manchester after spending several years in the middle of nowhere coppicing and making charcol, 2 left - other brother was a stauch tory ******er then discovered ecstasy in the 90's. No idea what he's up to now and then my friend Andrew the depressed alcoholic botonist. Ma ended up on a hill in Wales after hubby died 3 months after retiring, bonking passing lorry drivers... Never trust a Psychiatrist, they have no clue about reality.
