Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by Almag, Sep 29, 2012.

  1. Hi all,

I'm new to this forum so "hello" everybody. This is my very first post!

After a heartbreaking gazumping situation this afternoon I thought I would post on here to see if any of you lovely folk can help out.

We're looking for a 1970s type 2 VW pop top. Wondering if you guys either know of one for sale or can point us in the right direction of the best place to look. We're looking at spending about £8k (a little more if it's the right one for s!)

    Thanks!

    Alex :)

I saw a possible one on the classified here but there were no pics but will check out those links poptop2!

We rented one earlier this month after years of admiring and it made us want one even more!

the good thing is mate, we've all made the mistakes for you (especially me and poptop) so we'll be able to asist you and try to get you the best for your dough!

  12. I think that's the one thing we're really worried about! We took a VW mechanic to check over the one we had fallen in love with yesterday and we were about to make an offer when I got a call from the sellers to say the people who had viewed it this morning offered the full asking price! Very disappointing even though mechanic said it wasn't worth the asking price and needed work.

    they generally all need work!
its just finding the honest ones that arent hiding a multitude of sins thats the problem!
to be honest, for your budget you'll probably get one that needs work!

  14. I'm starting to realise that. That's our budget at the moment but might be able to spend a bit more if we save up more over the next few months. It's looking like 10-12k seems to get you something decent - is that about right from your experience?!
