vw festival in leeds utter joke

iv been told that, for this weekends vw festival at harewood house in leeds, for the show ' n ' shine on sunday that, if the people controlling the traffic in n out of the area dont think your car is 'worthy' of being there it wont be allowed in!!! WTF??
who is it that thinks that they can tell you your 'pride n joy' isnt worth being in a show n shine? what a *******-take!!!!!
sadly (or maybe not now) this is the 3rd year in a row im missing my local event (spain is calling 8) ) but has made me re-think ever going to this event if this is what its coming to!! i hope everyone boycotts the show n shine!!!!

 

That's just not cricket is it. Not is the spirit of the culture.

I used to be into my water-cooled dubs .at Ultimate Dubs in Telford you need to apply to even get your car entered into the show, send pics etc..

Oh noooooo - we're going on Sunday and were really looking forward to it as it's our first veedub fest. Mind you we don't have any intention of entering the show n shine anyhoo, but not good to read about these kinds of attitude. Bah!

 

I went last year for the day and I don't remember the show and shine being any better than other shows.

i went last year on the sunday in my mates golf mk2 and he wanted to enter but wasnt allowed either


the show was ok, i wasnt disappointed about any part of it, the show n shine wasnt out of this world but still a good standard
all in all i had a good day and i would definitely go again
it is what it is and i was gutted i couldnt go this year as i wanted to camp for the weekend too, i plan on going next year

 

Not really in the spirit of vdubs though is it, laid back and what is, is.

 

Oooo I do hope so, what's more important than being at TLB's 2nd birthday party ;D

 

thats sad - at volks world this year the TLB one up was one of the best - full of colour, individuality and practical use.
none of them were prize winners but the public loved it

 

Oh come on - someone needs to come and keep me & Arthur company!

I promise to leave the tweed at home. Though I do have a very fetching Barbour flat cap ;D
