Use Google to find Cached pages from LateBay

  1. I wasnt exactly a big Poster Pre-Crash, but I did want my France Trip write up back.. http://thelatebay.com/index.php?topic=354.0 Heres how I did that...

If you know a relevant keyword from one of your old post Titles you can use Google to at least bring back a cached copy of that page.

For instance I google "thelatebay 2074" I knew 2074 would be pretty unique and was in the title of my post. Google returns it as second on the Search Results list and If then click on Cached Link it takes me to the actual cached copy.

This is perfect if you need to get access to old posts where you thought the detail had been lost.

    Hope this helps

  2. And if you familiar with Google you can make it easier:

    site:thelatebay.com SEARCHWORDS HERE

    ie:
    site:thelatebay.com 2074

  3. hey, thats pretty good, just found some old posts.....well done mate :D

  4. No problems...

I once had to rebuild a web site for a mate who had no backups which were useable.

Time consuming but definitely better than having lost it all.

  11. ^^ yea, I'd like too know how you find/navigate to the other pages

so you just save the web page by going to file - save as ?????

then you can copy the info and re post it?

  17. Why don't we all have a search and if we find a good post copy and paste it to the original starter and they can re-post it here.

    'We shall rebuild you'

  18. Google chrome will allow you to 'save web page complete' text and images
