  1. I need to undo a weld

But my grinder doesn't reach and the Dremel doesn't make a dent :(

Any advice about how I might undo this ...

I think I heard some thing about tungsten carbide die grinder bits.. Will they whip off this pigeon poo before my neighbours slap an asbo on me ;)

How about a finger file/belt file.

  3. Yeah belt sander should sort that out!!!

  4. Are you just wanting to weld it better, or do you need to move the inner sill panel?

  6. Just weld it better ...

  7. If you get it nice and hot with the new weld, it should melt into the new stuf , if it's cleared around good!

  8. Exactly the point I was going to make

If you did the first weld, I would opt for the grind it back option. Unless you have some new found skills your not mentioning.

Remember these guys all weld well!

  11. Thanks I am going to grind it back ;) I tried welding over but with little success I don't think it has the oomph to melt the old stuff (100amp)

If you get a finger file, take it easy and make sure the belts are on the right way round:thumbsup:

100A is not enough power to weld to the chassis...

  14. Floor supports to inner sill should be ok... The welds have good penetration (at least where it didn't splutter and die)
I know the chassis is 2mm, I know it's not man enough for that..
