In this picture is there a bolt to hold this in or is it sandwiched between the 2 half's? What size is the bolt, how long & does it have a washer? Should I use lock tight on it?

  2. The bolt goes through where the centre cam bearing is... it's about 90mm long and it's fitted with a copper washer!!

I can double check the bolt length if you want?

  4. The bolt is after... The pick-up is installed before you put the halves together... you have to mind that the pick-up doesn't get hooked up/twisted when you're assembling it all!! :)

  5. Top man, Its together now but the pick up has a slight wobble, is this correct, I've torqued the big bolts to 25ft/lb & the 13mm ones to 14ft/lb, the long bolt that goes through the pick up I've only nipped up is it only supposed to be 9ft/lb or is that the nut that holds the strainer on their talking about? :-[

  6. no, that's 14ft/lb as well... the nut for the strainer plate is poss 9ft/lb, would need to double check

Don't over-tighten it - the pick-up is supposed to be loose allowing the plate under to settle in the right place. Over-tighten and you can crack the case. ;)

The sump plate. It's not uncommon for folk to overtighten it trying to stop leaks, it pulls on the case bolt it hangs off which in turn snaps a chunk off the case causing an oil leak. There is a fix I've read about, but I'll wait until someone actually does it. lol
