yes mate, tins from you, flaps and rod from Bertiebot stat/bracket wheel and cable off paul, plus above push rod tins that cover the cylinder pots from zed, it's been a long journey and parts from many vans/people to do the cooling, also exchangers off junglemod and DUBious plus pipes and pods etc from hayburner nedfaux there maybe others i've forgotten but thanks to many people we are now standard.

Do you need these, think mine are missing - infact i don't think i have any of these parts, but it is an aussie import so perhaps the aussie's didn't need it and was removed from the outset?

  10. All these engines need a thermostat. So if they are missing you need to them.

  11. The thermostat opens at around 80°c so even your aussie bay would've had one!!

But it is your choice as to whether you put it back in... I'm just offering parts to enable people to do so!! :)

  12. After seeing ricks set up at the weekend ill be buying one of these sets soon.
Do you have any plans to supply the linkage bar that runs across the fan housing?

without wanting to hijack pauls thread i can confirm you would be better having the cooling stuff fitted, it's very easy to understand how it works once you see it in operation and situ' on the engine, the engine gets up to operating temperature quicker and watching the head temp guage on my journey home shows it maintain an even temperature better this video explains how it works from about 2.50 in

  14. That would require me making a flap to go on it on the RH side... I'd have to check it out and see, but there's the flap, cable clamp, rod guides, and fail open spring... there is a guy who sells them on ebay for a lot cheaper than I could make them...

At a guess I got a few bits missing, I took the tinware off looking for a oil leak and thought I'd take a pic and show you what's not there...

Think I need a bit more than just those bits your selling and no clue on what I do need to complete the job.

Seems flaps must be open so all ok - well not quite...

  18. The other parts are available new from vw heritage (thermostat and cable)

The parts I make are no longer available from any of the suppliers!!

  19. CoolAirVW now have the thermostats on their site too:

    http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/Sho.../T1_-P-_T2_1200cc_-_1600cc_Thermostat_TQ.html

They only went on the site today after I asked them if they could get one for me - sounds like they have had them for ages but for some reason they never got added to the website.

Ordered mine from them today with my 10% TLB discount and once that arrives I should have all the cooling flaps/thermostat related bits ready to fit )

My actual flaps and across the engine bar for the flaps were missing too. I got those from eBay via the link that Paul pointed out above. Only other place I've seen with the flaps is:

    http://www.germansupply.com/home/customer/product.php?productid=18356

They are in Canada and so will take a while to get here, but have ordered from them before without any problems.

  20. Paul, you still doing this kit? Can I get one please?

    Oh, and bump ;)
