Got my engine back from stateside line bored and crank shaft down a size plus new cam lifter s oil pump etc... All due to go into (after assembly !!!) http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/start-of-my-restoration-now-called-noah.11619/ But unfortunate both heads turned out to be cracked Anybody got experice of the type 4 head from heritage ????nor other recommended sources for new type 4 heads Mark .....
Yeah, sorry... They're made by AMC and they have a low compression step in the head that you might want to machine out... But other than that, they're a good head
If you're still after recommendations, I've got GSF heads on mine and I think they're pretty good, no dramas

You got good results with these? I recall having problems with valve seats dropping but that was a long time ago!
I pulled the seats and turned them into big valve heads, which I'm pretty sure the OP is planning on doing!!
Yes the heads i got from GSf about six months ago seem to running ok, but the price for type 4 heads are not cheap.
Until I get my machine shop set up, I use a guy near me.... You have to have the correct cutter tools to machine the head for the valve seat!!
you're looking for a valve seat counterbore cutter... It's going to take a while to track down a UK supplier
