  1. Hi guys just changed my fly wheel from my old engine to my new one and I used the shim that was already on new engine bolted it up to 80 pound and it seems to be rubbing a bit I was told they are inter change able any advice would be good the fly wheel it have put on new engine is a 210 fly wheel from my 1700 engine the other fly wheel looks slimmer than the one I have just put on cheers

  2. Rubbing where?

And slimmer, as in thinner? Can you measure the 2, see what the difference is?

How many shims were on the new engine?

  4. Hi there there was one shim on new engine and one on the old engine

  5. Are you talking about the "shim" under the heads of the bolts?

  7. Yes dude there was one shim under the heads of the bolts when I say thinner what I ment was the teeth on the flywheel seem smaller than my 1700 flywheel dude I counted them both and both had 130 teeth but where my 1700 ones teeth seem a lot thicker than the one that was on the engine when I got it dude

  8. As long as the clutch diameters are the same, then you should be ready to rock!! :)

So back to my original question... Rubbing where? :)

  9. Hi ya Paul when you turn the flywheel round it seems like you can here a rubbing noise between the back of flywheel and back of crank caseing it mite just be me being paranoid by the way how are the heat exchangers coming on dude any news yet

  10. You could be hearing the 3 thrust shims moving against the flywheel and the thrust bearing... was everything nice and clean when you put it together?

I'll get the HXs sorted shortly :) I think the ones for you need some new pieces of casing made... but that's nothing major!! :)
