TYpe 4 fan

Should I have a missing blade, could this be the cause of my rumbling noise as it is spinning uneven.

 

nope... that's busted out... most definitely what would cause a rumble, as it'll be well out of balance!!

Anything else I should check while the engines out, got a few seals to replace to try and stop some oil leaks.

 

It was then as you suspected the other day related to the fan.

 

If you do the flywheel oil seal, make sure you torque the bolts up properly... 80ft/lbs

and make sure you put the pushrod tube retaining wire back in correctly too or you'll notch the pushrods...

but other than that, you should be ok

 

Just been looking for a new fan. Any ideas where I can get one, they don't do them new of I can't find them.

 

the snail fan? for the heating? i have 2.......

vw heritage do them new , not cheap tho i think it was their ebay shop ...£40 ish or second hand 15 quid ish

Cheers Paul, not got one yet but going to Bristol volksfest so going to have a good rummage around.
