Type 1 engine tins

  1. As the majority of you know (or might not know) I've just started manufacturing Type 4 under tins...

Just been asked if I could knock up some Type 1 under tins.... And I was thinking about doing some head shrouds too...

You have to admit that the Taiwan stuff is pretty bad when it comes to the fitment!! And on the plus side, I'm pretty sure I have a full set of genuine tins

    Any thoughts or comments??

The T! tin set (under) is cheap and bends!
I wouldn't waste your time Paul - stick to the no longer available T4 undertins - yours look the dogs BTW, so well done you for meeting this need.

  3. The three bits for a type 1 cost £29, how much would your grp ones be? Not sure if peeps would want to pay a premium ???

  4. I'd probably be coming in around the £50 mark, as the would use about the same amount of materials as the type 4 ones

Strangely after seeing a real dearth of these T4 tins, I'm bunging an engine back together for a customer - he provided many boxes of bits and there are 3 sets of these all in good order.

  6. I'm tempted to knock some moulds up anyway... gonna get to a point when I want some decent type 1 tins, and I'm not gonna be able to get any for love nor money

  7. I am sure I have some of the lower type 1 tins, but they are fitted to my van :D

  8.
  9. It can take the heat  I use a chemical and heat resistant polyester resin 8)

  10.
  11. If you can sort the front tin over the gearbox I'd be very interested, mine is made up from about 3 different tins including one from a beetle!
