Somebody posted a clip of something like the above a few days ago that looked well worth a view. I forgot about it til today, but I can’t find it now. It think it was a bit left field and below the radar. Does that ring any bells? It’s doing my nut in now!
No - got to be honest it's way too out there for me - only the truly disturbed minds know where to find this stuff.
I think like most comedy, it can be hit and miss. Not everything Morcambe and Wise did was funny ( basically the ITV years) but we remember them for when they were. Same with the Two Ronnies. I can watch Monty Python these days and think it’s more miss than hit at times.
I prefer these, saw them live and they were brilliant check out their 2020 song it’s a bit Sweary for on here so won’t post
Cannon n Ball are up there with the krankies and Timmy Mallet for me Seriously though, Ronnie Barker was THE comedian for me!
And so much more. I loved this little series he wrote and starred in, it was about a short sighted removals man...
The four candles sketch is a classic! Was watching mock the week last week with my bro and some of these had us in stitches
I always liked left field comedy. I think Bob Mortimer is a legend. I love his humour. I knew this was my sort of thing from a very young age. Spike Milligan was my hero. The people that push comedy experimentally do it for me. But par for the course with this sort of humour is that it is very hit and miss. Worth it for the odd gem in my opinion. Something that makes you cry with laughter is worth it for the bits that don’t work. Main stream has its place of course and I appreciate that too, but in a different more gentle way.
