I have got one of these, my mate gave it to me. He got one for his mum's spare TV to save wiring in another cable from their house aerial, and it worked brilliantly up there in Keswick. I tested mine in the van at home and it picked up all my local channels (which it should being only 10 miles from the transmitter at Winter Hill) but also picked up the Welsh Channels from 50 miles away at Moel-y-Parc. I have used it in Cornwall to great satisfaction, but then I was within line of sight, 8 miles from the Redruth Transmitter so expected nothing less really. Easily packs away with the TV and just pops onto the roof of the van when I want to use it. The big test would be in the mountains of Wales I suppose. I've been there and had no signal with conventional portable aerials, even with boosters! Yes. When in a new transmitter area you will need to re-scan, but it normally only takes about 5 mins.

I have an outdoor one that screws into a post I've fitted to the Westfalia pop top bars. Works well, doesn't need a power source and does digital. It's like this one.
