I disagree, I think they all look better lowered. As to being better, that's a whole different discussion. :D

Fair enough - show us a pony one?

  6. Each to their own and some mildly dropped buses just look right. Narrowed beams and dropped to the floor look, well - just silly (to me that is) but people spend some very significant sums getting them there!

    pony?

    Praise the lowered :)

nose bleed rides look good, lowered rides just look better, nothing to do with seeking approval, if that were the case it would be catch 22 its down to the individual and how they see the proportions and asthetics... folk who drive stock have the right idea, they probably ride folding bikes( and derivitives of ) and drive sensible mid range production cars . folk that prefer the lowered look also have the right idea and probably prefer to ride bmxs ( and derivitives of) and drive odd ball impractical dailys..Its less seeking approval and more doing like you think it should be done .. :) its your life.... live it... :)

  10. Or they actually use them for camping, wild camping, getting off road and not just going to BMX events! Or they have fragile spines, or they just think its a purile and childish waste of money.

I like most of them tbh. As for sensible mid-range cars - spot on - I do! Guess im too tight or skint to drive owt else. Happy to drive anything crazy you wish to donate but Im not going to cycle around the park on a clown bike lol.

But it's the radiator, the squared off roof and those swaged doors that make it pony. OK it's a bit too low.

Wild camping... a proper wild camper would scoff at a VW as they wade through sticky mud in there converted unimog or LWB landy, Ive seen a few VWs camped in wooded parking areas with no hookup with the more adventuous seeking the remoteness of a club stand in a wet field at a weekend car show... On the whole traveling through anything deeper than an average puddle would sink a VW camper as it filled with water ... and to be honest for the majority of folk, wild camping isnt on the agenda regardless if you have a stock height or lowered bus. If it was you would complete the rebuild to suit, or buy a van that fitted in with your needs. The few thousnad miles per year most cover its unlikely they will even get caught in the rain, never mind meet the required stature to cross a flowing river or traverse a rocky outcrop....but if remoteness of the camp area, wrestling grizly bears and prospecting for gold are your intentions, granted, an ass draggin camper might not be the one to suit your needs... however if you managed it in a lowered van, it would still be the the coolest van in the valley... :)

Yeah, but you're just being realistic. Next year myself and I hope @paradox will look as hard as we can for somewhere difficult to get to, even if it's rubbish when we get there, and post a picture of our vans in a muddy puddle. :) Just for the sake of it - which is pretty well the driving force behind whatever you do to and with your van, if practicality was the sole aim we wouldn't have them would we?

lol, Its all up hill to Scotland, only a couple of motorways and a smattering of rough surfaced duals. Near Forfar ( check its remoteness on a map ) there are plenty muddy road surfaces and moderately deep puddles, close to a road verge where some travelers recently vacated but convieniently close to McDonalds and KFC .. there might even be some coo's in the adjacent field... :) :) all that adventure and wildlife to boot...

  17. Whats you experience of using your camper. What do you like doing best?

My experience with my camper is having spent the last 2 years replacing all the rust .... what I like doing best is err replacing the rust thats left ... and after that no way on gods good earth will it be considered viable to drop it down a 3 foot ditch to camp by a swollen riverbank in a howlin gale.. I will reserve that type of use for the £800 daily driver Jeep that I keep on the road basically cause it ows me nowt its bomb proof and gets me home when it snows in winter ... :)

  19. Probably your best course of action. Let us know when youve had a camping trip or two and then we can discuss dropping campers in the weeds and the practicalities of doing so.
