I'm experimenting with a new gear shifter on a bus. The fit was simple and as the product stands its superb. l really like it. What l need help with is the bottom fitting. Hard to explain (l think but I'll try)

Fitting to the floor is easy and simple. What l am not convinced with is the lock nut that hold the main rod to the base. How tight must this go?? I've gone tight to the point where l thought I'd strip the nut but it came loose after an extensive test run.

    The product is this.

  2. is it a pivot bolt between the upright part of the shifter and the base??

should really be a shoulder bolt with bushes and a nyloc done up to around 20ft/lbs... and possibly a spring washer or 2 to stop is rattling

    Any chance of a picture??

No. It's the part that comes after that. The long rod screws onto the part that goes into the selector hole part. You screw it on and then lock it with the nut. But it just doesn't feel right if that makes sense??

I'll take pictures tomorrow in the day light.

This is the part that comes loose.

I would use a bit of lock-tight there's a lot of twisting force going through it due to the leverage

  7. ...or buy a CSP :)
