Trick or treat

  1. One halloweeen I was living in Bristol, and to avoid the trick or treating (there was lots of it) I made it look like I was out.

It backfired just a tiny bit, as later that night I was awoken by a bloke in my bedroom with a hammer who thought the house was empty and was burgling it.

Since then i’ve tended to view the kids as the better of the two options really....

Yeah, I think that's always been the unwritten rule hasn't it? If you put out a pumpkin, then you are saying 'I'm okay for Trick or Treat'.
I love it, and I'd be disappointed if I didn't get any knocks at the door from the local kids. Only 6 so far tonight, but they normally keep going til about 8 o'clock so there's still time, and sweets, left!
It's a good excuse to dress up too... I got a new costume this year, and one of the kids just asked me where my knives were!

  3. To be fair, burglar probably had as much of a shock as me, he was quietly going about his job when a 6 foot fat bloke with a red Mohawk who slept naked jumped up and started screaming like a girl at him.....!

  4. my mate lived in Canada until three years ago and said the Canadians were seriously into this, him and his wife dressed up loads of the neighbours round and handing out buckets of sweets. moved to the states a couple of years ago and did the same the first year he said the americans kids (and especially their parents) were an ungrateful lot and has never bothered again, now does the lights off no one in routine.

  5. 2 families so far. the kids were very well painted and dressed up and made a real effort. they all carry little buckets of sweets so I give them a few quid each.

Right, that's the 17th lot of Trick or Treaters... that's enough now, I need to get on with the ironing and I'm not sure it's a good idea whilst I'm wearing this much nylon, plus I keep hitting the axe in my head when I go through doorways.....

  11. Should see her at Techenders after a couple of Doombars ....

When `up North` i always got a couple of those massive cadbury tubs ...

I figured if there`s going to be any left at least i`d enjoy disposing of the leftovers - i hate Haribos ;)
