Big is all well and good, but does anyone recommend one that they would trust at 10NM? My little Sealey one doesn’t inspire confidence at low torques at all, especially when refitting injectors in a new £800 cylinder head… really don’t want to strip the M6 threads

  2. I'd doubt any of them are that accurate, certainly not aerospace standard. But my baby Teng inch-pound one works pretty well. Used it for the glow plugs on my Golf (previously done up by a gorilla with a breaker bar ).

I found that the heads just pop off M6 bolts even into aluminium when over torqued - outboard motor cylinder head bolts which use m6, when I was misreading inch pounds as foot pounds..

  5. You need a baby 1/4" rattle gun. A couple of warning shots followed by a good rattle, and M6s will come straight out without ripping the heads off.

  6. A workmate is in the process of a toolbox upgrade and has this for sale if any interest? Price is £300 and will need a good clean and st8cker removal. 20240208_073443.jpg
