What sort of camper are you Are you the sort to carry every device and gadget with you or are you the sort to take as little as possible and live simple? I think im a bit of a too much kit kind of guy when im normal camping
minimal living, i dont carry bikes, a fridge, or a sink unit, enough clothes for a couple of days easy dry clothes are best, a duvet for sleeping under, two cups, two plates forks spoons knifes coffee and tea bags and thats it ...buy food to cook on the way same with beers, and my flexible friend mr visa. I cringe at some vans loaded down and packed full of stuff... oh i take the awning if we are going to a camp site normally tho its wild camping 8)
We have pretty much got it sorted after ten years of practice in the van... Pack just what we need and nothing more. But we usually forget something.. Before we had the van I went on a boys weekend trekking across dartmoor, we forgot the tents.?? so we slept in our emergency orange bivies... Best trip ever..
I think I we take too much. She takes all the luxuries, I take 3 kinds of everything just in case. We are making a concious decision to take less.
When I first did the camper interior, I created about a thousand cupboards and we took just about everything you could think of. Then I re-did the interior this year, and we've learnt to take only what is needed, and make better use of the space. It's much better this way. Less clutter.
if it's me and my son camping then a clean pair of pants each, some food for the BBQ, juice for him and some beer for me if mum and daughter are coming as well they fill every last space with something
Who has a fridge and what do you normally keep in it? Is it just to keep the beer and milk cold? If i dont fit my fridge then it gives me a lot more storage space in the bus For the short time we had the bus on the road we only ever had booze, milk or salad in the fridge
I think i need to think more simple as atm my brain is trying to over do the gadgets I need a sink and stove though I can have a bacon butty and a brew whilst waiting in the car park for my wife to finsh work and do the washing up after lol
As anyone who regularly attends Techenders will testify, I take nothing at all - sometimes a bag of ground coffee. Someones always got a spare mug.
