Global Day of the Engineer brings together the international community to recognise the accomplishments of engineers, give students around the world a chance to experience engineering and share the amazing innovations engineers create every day. Here's my favourite engineer:
An engineer of sorts. Got a be one of my favourites, watching him work on his old traction steam engines.
Sadly, @bernjb56 , this Day went down less well than Black Forest Gateau Day, which is a real shame, the world needs folk like Fred D above. We just don't give our engineers enough credit, in my humble. In these uncertain political times, they are often the ones we can rely upon to make our world actually work, they ensure our bridges stay up, that our leccy stays on, that our phones work, the list goes on, they are our unsung heroes...... Rant over...
Absolutely true. The world would go to hell if it wasn’t for us engineery types. It’s frightening that we’re (generally) ruled by people who don’t know how anything in their house works. Scary.
My friend Craig is an engineer, who follows in the footsteps of his father,a well known hot rod builder, who sadly passed away, far too early,a few years ago. I admired his work immensely,in his cars he built and also in his friendship over the years,as I worked at the same place as him for 14 years. Back to Craig. He's just got his bike back from paint, only last Saturday. This is his second bike. He built 3 frames before he was happy with this one. Pretty much everything is machined by him.
Stunning, no there's other word for it!! There's a certain magic about folk who can pull off building "ones-ies" (essentially protoypes/one offs) that look as good as that.
