Seeing as at Springcamp we were camped on the Rutland water cycle track it would have been rude not to have attempted it, So on the Sunday morning after two nights of partaking in the odd drink or two @TomEv86 @CollyP @Tiny-Pie s bloke Paul and me all non bi-cyclists decided the time was right to do this epic journey ( well it was for us ) I borrowed Joycees bike, Paul borrowed one of Ian & cathys bikes, Tom borrowed Loudoos bike and Colin had is own. we set off thinking we'd see how we felt after a few miles but after about one mile Toms chain broke, we decided that we'd walk and push him to the nearest bike shop on route and get it fixed but even that went wrong. Tom was rolling down a hill towards the bike shop and his handlebars came loose and he steered of track into the bushes, Loudoos bike was wrecked by this time but still we had to get it fixed and carry on, this took us about an hour of walking and waiting but then again we were ready to go, Like I said before, non of us are proper bike-ists so 25 miles on rough gravel tracks up and down hills seemed impossible but we just carried on, and on and on and on, about four and a half hours later and a few pubs on route we'd made back to where we started. A small feat to some but a massive one for us, well done lads
It was a reet laff (as I believe you northerners say!) Seriously boys - top job all round. Great to meet you all.
Its a top ride, when lived 20min up the A1 it was a regular Friday night ride. Crossing that dam in winter with hailing rain and wind is no picnic. Congratulations on your epic ride.
That's what Paul also said, wonder why that is.... @Tiny-Pie is Paul's rear still a pain in the bum If he's not in the mood tonight you know why.... He's turned lol
When they said they were going for a ride then walked off together towards the woods I did stop and question that..? I don't wish to know the ins and outs of what happened... Some things are best kept a secret!
