Thought I’d stumbled across a bargain barn find on gumtree this week, shot over to see it this morning and sad to say the van is beyond saving (Ok I know it’s an prototype bay) Poor thing has sat there for probably 15 years, someone tried to drag it out a few months back and snapped the chassis leg! Engine hanging to one side. Cab door nearly came off in my hand when I opened it, was advised not to open sliding door (presumably in case van folded in half). Sad reality is it won’t leave the garden in one piece, not even many spares on it worth the hassle of dragging it out to break it. Bloke said to me it could use some fibreglass and paint, I laughed probably louder and longer than I should and explained that even fibreglass needs some metal to bond to... So which parts of it made you think it’s beyond saving? From the pictures it looks to be in better condition than a lot of vans I see on the road.
Its the lower 6 inches, the upper 6 inches and maybe the middle 6 inches that need a bit of TLC the rest looks good
Don't rule anything out, take a look at what I had to deal with. Here's what I had to deal with. Before After Window before After Front floor After
Wasn’t someone on here after wing mirrors a while back? I know it’s common to buy a donor vehicle when doing a resto, does anyone think it’s a bit much to buy that just for the mirrors?
It’s not like it needs an MOT! Stick a seat in and drive it I say. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
