  1. Good work. Thanks for posting the photos they provide useful information. I have to make some gutter repairs on my '79 Moonraker, I have the smaller pop top on mine and so the rust is at the rear corners.

  2. Next job is to fill in the gap with a couple of patches.
Got some new steel and joggled the edge with my homemade Joggler/Flanger.....

Clamped in then tacked and welded...

    Trimmed to correct length...

And then bad light stopped play. I must get my self an inspection lamp or something rigged up in my shelter so I can carry on a bit later.

  5. Second repair panel fully welded in...

Then I started cutting out rust for the next section. I've cleaned up all the internal area with a flap disc and treated it with rust convertor...

There is a couple of holes in this internal section so I will need to patch up one or two areas with repair patches.

And then I could hear the pub in the distance calling my name....

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction.
Anyone have an idea how much this is likely to cost me???
    Thanks for any help.

  10. And then for my next trick I will attempt to fashion a corner section out of this donor roof cut....
The gutter is rotten so I will need to try and graft a corner repair section (From Schofields) to the roof cut.

good work,, that should help keep things dry in the van :) re the rear corner repair sections are the only parts available those that are cut from other vans or are schofield doing those too .. What price are the schofield corner repair panels ?

    keep up the good work

  19. Cheers for your comments guys.

I was hoping that the donor section I got hold of would be ok for what I needed but unfortunately the gutter was rusty. (the whole donor section only cost me a tenner so can't complain).

Schofields only do the gutter for the corner (not the roof part). I think it was about £15. I grafted roof part to the gutter then welded into place.

It a massive job you tackled there.. I dont know your background but it look like you took on a daunting repair and kicked its ass.. :) sometimes all you have to do is make a start and you surprise yourself ...

I wasnt sure if anyone made the corner roof sections,, Ive read a few posts where folk have needed to repair that area ... its maybee about time the bir was available from new ... Im off to the shed to see what can be knocked up...

do you need a corner piece for the other side too..
