PAINT.....


I have got the first coat of paint on. there are a couple of areas that will need attention before going ahead with more coats.

I could have tried filling and sanding the area on the roof and tried to get a good finish on the roof curve but this area will never be seen so I have just painted as it is.











Well it's Friday and I don't really fancy standing about watching it dry so I'm off to the pub.

 

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together???


New Stainless Hinges and Large flange Stainless Rivets.





New edge seal fitted all the way around the roof (my thumbs are *****ting now like!!!)





Roof bolted to hinges with M6 Stainless bolts. I made some square plates that have M6 tapped holes to bolt into through the roof. hopefully this will give a bit more support.

We have been having some great fun camping this summer getting use out of the pop top again. Haven't been able to use it over the last couple of years due to the rot.

Its amazing how much extra room you get with the roof up...

Thought I would give an update on this. I’ve finally gotten around to sorting the gutters on the other side of my van.
This side wasn’t as bad as the hinge side of the roof but I did leave it too long to get sorted.
