To be fair 99% of the people on here are great and very helpful in my experience, especially when a technical problem needs addressing
There are a few outspoken characters on here who I have never met but who speak out in a funny way & I personally don't take any offence at what they say.
I won't name any names but most of the outspoken ones are decent people who only want a laugh and I kind of like that.

I understand totally what the OP is saying. I have noticed a couple of tossers on here, one in particular comes to mind!
Some people are only to quick to jump on other peoples mistakes. Most of what I want to say I don't, as I think some keyboard warrior will jump on it.
I even liked old Bay Watcher he was a funny guy and very helpful, what happened to him?
I do think that for sale threads should be left alone and people shouldn't stick their oar in unless there is a scam going on.

I joined last year @John r smith having bought my first bus and I have absolutely no experience (and frankly no idea ).

I have posted good questions and bad. But I have had nothing but help and good advice. Sometimes I had to ask for clarification but people have always been good enough to explain.

IMO, @Lasty recognized the interior from a previous post, saw that the original asking price had been lowered by the OP, and assumed that @Obi-Wan-Jay had bought it at this lower price....reasonable assumption to make...he's then on the receiving end of a load of sarcasm and gets called a Cretin to boot....
It's none of my business, and, ultimately, if someone puts an item up for sale, it's down to the seller and potential buyers to settle on a final figure, but tbh, I don't think @Lasty was in the wrong to flag it up....

Regards unfriendliness on this forum, I beg to differ....it's inevitable that friends, associates and relative strangers will disagree with each other from time to time....why should it be any different on a forum? What really matters is how it gets resolved IMHO

 

If the original poster in the for sale thread was unhappy he had every oportunity to report it to mods and ask for it to be tidied up, mods stepped in on that thread and asked for it to get back on track, there is no reason for you to start a thread moaning about it as it isn't your business, as with any site if you don't like it don't use it, most people who come on all the time keep coming back so it can't be that bad.

But with 50+ years of standing up for myself i`m really past caring how other people interpret my contributions on here, i NEVER go out of my way to cause bad feeling and try to help out whenever i can .
With regard to the legendary interior thread , i wasn`t winding anyone up or trying spoil his sale . I saw the ad a couple of months ago when Shiplee was selling and contacted him with an offer but never got any further than that as i didn`t get a reply - next thing it was flagged as sold, so win some - lose some ...

Obis` ad appeared and it was obviously the same bundle . i`ve got a hard earned grand sat here waiting for a decent interior so i looked at the postings and Shiplee`s last post said he`d take £999 for it - closely followed by Obi saying he`d sent a PM .
To anyone looking in it went for a grand , so for Obi asking "to get back what he paid for it" (£1250 - firm !) seemed out of order so i pointed out the discrepancy - cue insults and vitriolic outbursts from the masses ...
In hindsight i should have gone down the PM route but brought it out into the open which at the time seemed justified - a lesson learned ....

Will i still be using the forum ??
Of course - a great bunch of people on here and sound advice. One or two try to stir things up but i assure you i`m not joining their ranks ....

If you thinks it's bad on here, I joined a bird watching forum a while back and they are the most offensive and vulgar people going. Some examples of language in most threads:

Tits - sexist and rude
Thrush - vulgar
Woodpecker - rude
Blackbird - racist and sexist
Red breast - sexist and weird
Swallow - awful conversation
Puffin - ageist
Rook - violent
Treecreeper - voyeuristic pervert

I will leave it there. I cancelled my membership.

 

Am a bit late to this thread tis true, but I have reread the For Sale thread again. Couldn't for the life of me see anything that controversial, and in any case, as others have already pointed out, most of the replies were positive toward the OP. This seems to me to be making a mountain out of a molehill.
