Things to do in Cornwall

  1. Just got home from a six night West Country tour, mainly planned around the tiny campsites book & website http://www.tinycampsites.co.uk/

Highlight was 3 nights at Broadmeadow House, Charlestown http://www.broadmeadowhouse.com/ tiny site only five pitches, max 12 people with views overlooking the sea, excellent site that we will definitely be returning to. Let them know Peter, Carolyn & Anni recommended them, they love old VW's :D

Plus a great place for a bit of boys retail therapy, Bob's Tool Shop in Liskeard

Go to Truro , find the road that runs down the river to Malpas, have a beer outside the Heron Inn best view in Cornwall!
Then get the ferry down the Fal to Falmouth past the big ships and the King Harry ferry through the Carrick Roads, spend a few hours in Falmouth.
Alternatively drive to Mylor and hire a little boat and sail back up the Fal yourself :)

Check out the tide times and try to go when the tide is in or well on its way, river looks better with high water.
Stayed at a cottage a few hundred yards away 5 years on the trot pre bus days, love the place, cottage had it's own mooring so bought a small boat for a couple of years to potter up and down to Falmouth, happy days :)

  9. Just got back from Cornwall, saw only a couple of bays all the time, mainly T4's. If you go to Padstow, use the park and ride it's four quid but you can go back and forth as many times a s you like during the day. Parking is expensive but no more than any other tourist destination. It has a certain calm about it (before all the kids break from school) and I wish i could live there.
