Good stats undoubtedly. But what percentage of that can we link directly to the presence of Liz? Bit difficult I'd say.
well is some souces suggest £1.8B and UK tourism is £217B then lizzy brings in 0.83% not a great deal admittedly, but probably more than the whole of TLB put together - but more to the point, she brings in more to the economy than she takes, which i think is what the thread was sort of originally about.
So are we saying if they go, they take the crown jewels, buck house, tower of london and all the other pads and trinkets they have taken over. Or would we still have these as our history so Japanese and Chinese tourist can come and film/photograph. The builders of stonehenge arn't around anymore, does that mean no one goes?
But that’s what I’m trying to find out....is it possible to directly link, with evidence, this “she brings in more than she takes out”, to her being around?
Everyone knows Stonehenge was a stone age McDonald’s that’s why there’s a motorway near it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
interesting articles https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...fits-cost-meghan-markle-expense-a8345436.html https://www.republic.org.uk/what-we-want/royal-finances From what i can read the royals costs the UK £345m that seems far less than she brings in. a quick google will give you all the info. i tried looking on the ONS website but couldn't find anything
makes me larf... how tourists never cross the road when, there nothing coming they wait for the crossings to change.. I just walk past them all and cross, the looks are awesome.. its best in Edinburgh ...
The royal family make a difference. Although actually they don’t do any running of the country. They bring the common wealth together and peace. Also businesses that carry the royal stamp of approval create more opportunities and jobs. Imagine Trump running the country? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No, that was I think you need to read for yourself and make your own mind up. I would say going by what I have read what she brings to the economy, what is earned from the estates they own people they employ etc. then I’d say she is rather good value for money.
One thing they seem to get is respect around the world , and they help our security as being protected helps us too .
The Indy article is very good. I think it’s like it says to sum up, “In the end, the question of whether the Royal Family is worth it, or not, is probably less a financial question than a political, moral and aesthetic one.”
met some Canadians in France recently they were going to come to Britain just to see the royal family I'm sure they're not the only ones they asked me if I'd ever had tea with the queen and what was it like at Buckingham Palace
Don't forget that the Queen meets the PM on a weekly basis. I am sure her vast knowledge of world affairs doesn't go unheeded.
