  3. Very bad experience.... 1st one ‘let go’ after about 60 miles... sent it back to be reworked & received it back with a leaky oil seal which we replaced ourselves only to discover couldn’t get gland nut back in (had been cross threaded by THEM).... sent it back then it was fine for a couple of thousand miles but it seized solid after my 12m warranty had run out.... would never deal with them again! The End!

Every recon engine was recently possibly somebodys disaster. Buy a new parts "Mexico" engine.. send your old one back afterwards..

Have you thought about that guy topside of Mansfield (Aircooled Hut ?) you could go visit him and see what is what!

  9. I’ve just spoken to them re a type4 2.0ltr and apparently no one can get gaskets for them at the moment so there’s a real problem , they’ve got none on the shelf so it’d be send them this one and get it rebuilt as soon as they’re able!
Or persuade the customer to go Subaru

Friend of mine who once worked for fairly well known VW place, told me about the engines they bought in from them once…
    Only the once…
Something about the reliability of line bored cases…

nothing wrong with correctly bored cases, it’s the machines or machinist.

Pushrod tube seals seem to be in short supply at the moment. The large ones anyway
