    Well apart from TE I think that'll be my camping done this year, when do you give up or you just carry on?

    I avoid the end of camping season blues and the when to stop conundrum with one simple step.... I don't go in the first place.

    @rickyrooo1 gave me this advice..

  5. Probably the last for me too though I could (normally) go on later this month weather permitting, just want to sort out some issues which will take my spare time up leaving none for camping...

    I love camping so I do it all year. No crowds, beaches to yourself, and the absolutely best time of the year for landscape photography.

  16. We've got a few things planned in September, but I really want to have a couple of days away with just the 2 of us - no shows, no TLB folk - just us. Might stretch that into early October. Last year we carried on till Wilma's 40th birthday bash just before Halloween but that was flipping cold.

    i don't get the it's cold bit? hook up or propex? i have both and love it later in the year, the biggest annoyance for me is having to wear coats and long trousers to be honest, we've had some excellent weather in october and even decent novembers too, to be fair it's money that stops me camping all year, the winter is my "recovery" time to sort jobs on the van and try to get sorted for easter which is usually my 1st of the next year.

  19. Sitting all evening squashed up in the van round a heater isn't my idea of fun. And the longer darker nights make me miserable - I'd rather be cosy at home for them. I enjoy camping when I can sit outside and enjoy the views/birdsong etc. We didn't used to have the heating pipes fitted either - so driving was freezing as well. That's sorted now though, so at least we'll be a bit warmer for the drive.

  20. it's looking like this will be our first weekend at home since the second weekend in may

    i'm not sure i remember what to do at home on a weekend

    the tax runs out at the end of October so if it's dry that will be our last camp
