I've just spoken with Malcolm, the campsite/pub owner and he has reserved us the function room upstairs for the saturday night meal

Because there will be so many of us...can you just indicate what you may want to eat off the xmas menu. He said he would hate for things to run out and for us to be disappointed If you want to order off the odinary menu you do not need to book in advance

STARTERS
Thick Country Vegetable Soup with crusty ciabatta bread and butter or

Oven Baked Field Mushrooms topped with a blue cheese and thyme crumb on a dressed salad with cranberry relish or

Smoked Salmon, Lemon and Herb Roulade on a mixed leaf salad served with a dill and cucumber yogurt or

Award Winning Haggis on a bubble and squeak pancake with carrot crisps and a jaffa and whiskey sauce[/color]

MAINS

Roast Turkey, pigs in blankets, chestnut sage and onion stuffing, goose fat roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, our homemade cranberry sauce and gravy or

Slow Cooked Lamb Shank on a bed of pea and mint mashed potato, baby roasted leeks and mushrooms served with a rich Shrewsbury Sauce. Shrewsbury Sauce is made from port, red current jelly and fresh cranberries or

Grilled Seabass Fillets on a potato rosti accompanied by steamed kale and finished with a dill and lemon butter and toasted pine nuts or

Pan Roasted Venison Steak with garlic and rosemary roasted new potatoes, fresh streamed greens and topped with a cranberry and Cumberland sauce.

He mentioned a spinach and mushroom wellington or goats cheese and tomato tart with all the usual xmas veg and spuds. But he did say he would be happy to make anything you wanted, so I suppose we'd better get looking in the veggie cookbooks, then at least we'll get what we want hahaha I just want all the trimmings without the meat and perhaps a nut-roast or quorn fillet instead

haha well i won't eat big pork chops e.t.c or ham or bacon haha just the odd sausage

anyway back to original thread so yeh i'll have anything they want to rustle up x

 

there's no meat in sausages fact eyeballs ballbag and floor sweepings mmmm tasty!

 

more dust and fillers than meat, so sausages are veggie LOL
