That’s nothing. A million housewives every day, pick up a tin of beans and say “Beans means Heinz!” It’s true. I saw it on telly
I’d just like to point out that the two times that I went. I popped down Luton Arndale Centre in my lunch hour. A week or so after the tickets went on sale and we’d decided who wanted to go. Nipped into HMV and the tickets came out of a book behind the counter. A more civilised way of doing things for a more civilised age. Bloody millennials with their everything must be instant on my phone attitude. Progress eh.
I just wish they’d stop having these old dinosaur bands on. Come on Emily Eavis, let’s have some of the new pop groups like The Take Thats and the East 17s ( I believe they got their name because they come from the East and there’s 17 of them)
In 79, in my work mates Daily Mirror i saw a postage sized advert for Queen in concert at Bingley Hall , £3.50. i had to send a postal order and a S,A,E in order to get tickets . Life was much easier then .
@Barry Haynes still accepts postal orders for some of his more specialised services. Less traceable and always dispatched in plain packaging.
Same for me the first time I went. Walked into HMV, handed over £50 and walked out with a proper paper ticket.
It’s the correct way to behave. All this scrabbling around getting fifty of your relatives to speed dial is so undignified and unbecoming of a gentleman
We got tickets again. Been lucky enough to get them every year it’s been on since 2011, although didn’t get to use mine this year as my appendix ruptured 4 days before we were due to travel down. Man that week sucked. I could just about handle not getting tickets but to have the tickets since October 2019, rolling them over each time it got cancelled during the pandemic then physically not being able to go was absolutely pants.
