    I
I agree, I much preferred the thriving boarded up/burnt out pubs.

Tesco wouldn't be interested in them as they'd need Change of Use permission. They just buy up struggling pubs, run them until they're ready then "re-furb" them into a Tesco. All they need is planning for any big signs and access ramps which is refused so infrequently they go ahead and do it at risk anyway.

  3. apparently from space you can see the Great Wall of China and T###o Expresss.......which now outway the Great British Pub. Where battles are won, hearts are broken, games are played, celebrations are made, ale is drunk and the art of conversion still rules....B######s to T###o

You won't like what I'm going to say then. My local (not that I would have entered it because it was not my kind of establishment) is now a Tesco express. And the last time I was in town and a little drunk I did the supermarket crawl home. By the time I got home I was well fed and semi sober.

  15. Well at least you don't have a 180 mile round trip for a Tesco shop, they chuck the produce around, chilled stuff gets left it in the aisles to warm up, now DIY self service scan and pay is seen as an improvement, you are doing half their job, maybe they should give a discount.
Not always the cheapest, you just get dazzled and don't check !

Getting ready for Glastonbury tomorrow, went to Tesco as advised and just got the Aluminium table and separate chairs on the shelf for £15, got to the till and they had been mislabelled, they were £38 :( even with the discount, but they checked and there was nothing on the shelf saying it was the higher price so I got them for £15 same as the plastic one, bargain! :)
