Rick i will be up for helping at the next one i had a bad week at work so just needed to chill so i appologise for not helping more as i feel i could have! :-[ I will be in a better frame of mind for the next time and have more of a clue where we are going And can help with organising if whoever is doing it need's me to? ;D

 

i couldnt make this but i do want to go. sept isnt that far off really so it will need sorting.

this kind of event is very weather dependant, if its peeing down all weekend, who wants to fit parts? not me!
is this always at the same place? would it be worth holding it in a few different locations? central is ok but it may appeal more to people if it was more regional? has anyone asked how far people are willing to travel to this kind of event? no facilities etc?
the ideal venue would be somewhere with a large hardstanding to use to work on the vehicles and close proximity to a parts supplier. wet grass isnt a good base to jack up a bus on.

in short, i would only really come to this if the weather was ok and there was a safe place to work / instruct
i wouldn't mind instructing the basic stuff as i am used to having apprentices and there is no such thing as a stupid question
def no money should change hands but a cup of tea is always welcome! let me know nearer the time if i am needed

first stupid question with I am sure many more to follow from me! Could you tell me where and when and how long it is on for please? I would love to come just to meet like minded people and have the opportunity to just look at other vans and ask questions specific to my needs. Also if I am able to help any body else it would be a pleasure, not that that is likely. I could make tea though while you guys are doing the technical stuff!! My van will not be on the road but have a tent and happy to sleep it it for now anyway!!

 

April and September at Eddies Farm (Victoria farm) near Lutterworth in Leicestershire...........starts on Friday until Sunday but you can come and go as you please, camping is dirt cheap and breakfast is available at the farmhouse for about a fiver. Sometimes it coincides with an american car event and they have a huge marquee with a band and disco / bar, sometimes it don;t have we get use of Eddies barn rooms.

 

If it is on I am in for sure!

 

Just a plug for those who haven't seen or been to one, it's Friday 14th Sept to Sun 16th - Tuesday, i know you said you had spoken to Eddie about the dates but when i spoke to him at camperjam he was unsure if he had been told, don't forget to chase him. I've booked the Friday afternoon off work and now the Monday after, i may treat this as a lazy weekend as i only have a few small jobs to do at the moment.

 

Rick I did confirm with Jackie but will ring after I return from France in 10 days.

Did you sort it for deffo then? also how long before do you need a list of how many are yes or no for deffo going? is it up on any other forum? it's a month from today if my maths is right.
