Take a Hike. Bbc2 right now. Great little watch, I must be getting old! This was a great walk in Yorkshire. I think there are a few Yorkshire folk on here, but they are quiet and unassuming so you’d never know!
Been watching it a bit worried that 2 of them can’t read a map and they are in a competition leading walks on the moors
Robin Hoods Bay and its surroundings are some of my favourite walks. You will find many a Pearson in the graveyards up there - basically one half of the family tree. ‘Luckily’ both parents born darn sarf so I’m even less Yorkshire than @Barry Haynes
Did you stop off at Boggle Hole YHA for a cake and a brew? It’s lovely there. Great place to stay a few nights too
Every time I’ve been recently there’s been a folk musician performing outside the pub though, so maybe supporting that?
That was absolutely dire ... Saw the Ilkley moor episode - more about the wacky idiots trying to look interesting on telly than the actual area or outdoor experience.. Nil pwann. Look up Winter Walks on t'eye player , they're more like it . Ps ... Bogle Hole / Ravenscar/ Staithes etc. Truly God's own country Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
The Ilkley moor one was awful. Saw the first, and shall watch the others but that woman would've slightly irked me!
My Wife’s Mum was from Robin Hood’s Bay, her parents lived there for many years, they ended up at The Coble, down at the beach next to the Coastguard Station. We got married there, we had the reception at Ravenhall, and the night time do at the Bay Hotel where we spent our Wedding Night (no malarkey as I was up at dawn to watch a certain N Mansell fail to win the F1 title by having a puncture in Australia). Our two twin black cats are from the Bay, from a litter found in a garage. I have many fond memories of there, including one New Years Eve down on the dock, watching Johnny Vegas drunkenly serenading a worried looking lady with the theme from The Love Boat! The in-laws had to sell up when they got too old to walk up the bank any more, making them feel trapped. We went for Christmas every year, including one where we were snowed in between Christmas and New Year, the first vehicle to get through was the beer delivery, they had their priorities right. I enjoyed the winter walk by the poet chap, though he took all day to do quite a short walk.
