We realise that the swearing policy has been causing some members some bother so we have tried to reach a compromise which is as follows:- We will filter the following words and replace them with a standard @!*#. Spoiler: Filtered swear words fuc-k shi-t cun-t wan-k bastar-d twa-t bolloc-k p-iss This filter will pick them out within words too, so fuc-ker would become @!*#er. arse, prick etc will not be filtered. It leaves the posts so they are still comprehensible and hopefully will not be offensive to most. I know it would still require some explanation to children why there are !@*# in a post but surely that's part of parenting? If I was a parent I would appreciate the efforts we had gone to. All photos/videos that contain swearing and anything slightly risqué must be in a spoiler tag with a suitable warning. The spolier tag is with the rest of the buttons up there ^ with 'Sp' on it. All we ask is that you don't try and get around the filter by posting with formatting, or alternative characters etc. Warnings will still be given for repeat offenders after a reminder PM is sent. Three warning (of any nature) and you're out applies. I think this way we have a proper policy and a clear line in the sand. We wont ever find something that is perfect; this is a pragmatic solution and I think it is a good compromise that needs to be made because it seems to be getting some of the members down. If a swear word makes it through the filter and you find it offensive please report the post and a member of the TLB staff will edit ASAP. Sometimes staff and members and bound to post a swear word that makes it through the filters, and when they do we do aim to edit it as soon as we see it but please bear in mind, TLB staff can't check every post and aren't online all of the time - and even when we are, things will get missed. When a swear word is missed it is just that - missed - please don't think it has been allowed/permitted.
I swear like a trooper. I've nothing against it - it's only words and your kids will have learnt the lot by the time they're 6 anyway, but moderators shouldn't swear if that's the policy and they seem to do it more than the commoners on here. I'm not bothered but it's fun to point it out. HorTs said a very bad word this morning. If you make me a moderator, I'll let everyone swear except the other moderators.
So are arse,prick etc not classesd as swears if there filtered not filtered then Cos my mum would say they are swears I s tell her she talking *****
i now type marmite instead of marmite i didn't even type marmite for the 2nd marmite, some of the filtered words will be with me for ever. i'm off for a marmite sandwich.
one thing i will say (incase admin didn't know) on tapatalk app spoilers tags do not work so i can see all horts typed swears, be aware if you do have kids and they are looking.
I think these rules are more than reasonable this is a family friendly site after all. I swear loads myself but thats just horses for courses. There are plenty of vee dub sites where if u wanna swear you can! So if u feel inclined use them as well. For me its the friendly laid back nature if Tlb that keeps me coming back.
