It has been. New stick. Properly fitted. Only have first gear. The mechanic's a full-time professional Dubber and a friend so hasn't any reason to mislead me.
I did in fact buy a NOS stick today just in case, but the original one was fine once we found the missing pin. Will be listing it in here soon no doubt!
my story.. kept getting stuck in third ,changed gearstick made no difference,in the nosecone was a grommitt [which was worn]changed it ,still stuck in third everytime I selected it ,sometimes I could double clutch to get it out ,finally swapped gearboxes it worked a treat ... If I had my time again I would have just swapped the box...
Booked in for a gearbox overhaul on the 23rd April. Along with a few other resto bits and a service/MOT. After maneuvering it into the back garden using first and pushing it's now a bedroom for an unwashed Aussie nephew. He's already managed to flatten my battery by keeping the interior lights on all night. All I needed was him to not do anything silly for one night before my hookup adapter arrived, but oh no...
I lent mine to my nephew ,he was working at little chef and needed to sleep over in the car park, I drove it because he did not have a licence ,went back to collect it the next day and it was down a ditch and had a flat battery... :-X
Well off she goes to the repair man. Of course someone had to sit in the cab and hold down the clutch while it was winched. That was a fun thing for a Monday morning...
