  1. i m in the process of painting my wheels and fitting chrome rings and white

i thought about lowering it a tad at the front but after i trip to see my mate the upholsterer to have a new headlining fitted he said leave it stock, it's the new low

i would welcome any opions and pics either way, i must admit since i've pimped the wheels it does look rather nice stock

  2. Stock. Only my personal preference tho, there'll be plenty more who'll say low.

Are you sure that's stock - looks a tad low already to me, but might just be the photo angle

  4. if you have a frontal crash do you want the on coming car to hit your front panel or the chassis

nahhh stock is so old hat....lowered is yesterday...

Elevated is the way forward - raise your bus into'th clouds

imo its down to the overall look of the bus - an untouched, all original example, leave stock - rat look, slam it and the USB crew, have a bit of nose down stance!!

if you're an early low (like they told you over there) if you're late high in the sky, because you're a crossdresser do half and half, high back low front like we did in the 70's with mk2 escorts

  10. I'm staying stock. It's the only way I can park my van in the garden! :))

I like stock height for myself. I've driven a few buses that are lowered and while it really can make a difference coming down a few inches, if you go too far it renders the bus quite harsh to drive. It does make it handle like a sport(ish) car as I got shown by someone.

I'm talking low low low :) And where I live low low low isn't great because of the speed bumps :(

2 or 3" is about as much as I'd be willing to go for my own bus.

  14. Think it's a very personal thing, do whatever makes you smile maan :)

  15. Lower looks good on some, slammed looks great on others, but mine is staying stock. I think she'd look silly anyother way :)

    And I'm no sheep!

On a scale of stock - handling - low - slammed, I'd go with handling... That way there's sound reasoning for it other than aesthetics!

  17. Go a spline front and rear, or so the wheel sits in the centre of the arch. Stops it looking like a syncro and helps with the handling, too low and it'll take an hour to manover yourself over every speed bump. although stock and you don't even know speed bumps are there.

  18. If you want it proper low (slammed) make sure you have a drive in a slammed bus before you splash out for the work to be done, I like it that way but the ride is not for everyone :)

Matt (Balls'd) is taking me for a ride in his later this week. He assures me it glides along, but the bodywork is about 10mm from the ground. I say mine's better, but he insists... more later...

  20. Have you got a profile shot of the bus?

'Stock' varies from bus to bus. They seem to vary in the way they sit, more noticable on the front. I dropped mine very slightly on the front to close the gap a little, no change in the 'handling'.

    Cheers
