Bbc tried to get him over Jimmy Saville ,they said he had been interviewed by police suggesting he was covering for Saville. He got suspended by BBC but he proved them wrong , this was about 3 years ago
Yep, tried that one with Gambo and nearly ruined his life. BBC emerged smelling of roses, of course...
@art b fo you actually love Steve Wright? . I will miss listening to him. I liked when listeners chose their own play list, especially when their tastes in music were the same as mine. When I was bathroom fitting with Angie we even compiled a list but never got round to sending it in I think most trades persons I know, of a certain age, listen to Radio 2 while they work . It helps keep a track of the time too. If they ever stop Popmaster I’m going to retire!!
Thank God he's gone. Talking over the songs, cutting them short and even worse singing over them and pathetically trying to sound like a guitar over the solos. If I'm unfortunate to be in the car between 2 and 5 o'clock I always tune in to listen to a grown up.
tbh, He was always around , easy to listen to, played some great tunes, on radio one and two, had some funny moments and never takes himself seriously the "non stop oldies" usually had some great music... he's certainly piled on some weight ..
