Cheers guys, all sorted, put the right clutch (late) in today, and a new release bearing and guide. The release bearing had pretty much welded itself to the bearing guide and the plastic had heated to a molten broken mess. all without even turning a wheel! Just for reference heres a pic of the 2 clutches, On the left is the late clutch which the release bearing with integral wire clips , and on the right, an early clutch. friction plates are identical 200mm with the same part number. Its running well at the moment, so hopefully have time to test drive it around the yard tomorrow, if I can get others cars out the workshop.
Kruger dude could you do me a favour please and measure the depth of the rivet holes on the friction plate Id like to compare it against my friction plate to see how much its worn and see if its worth replacing or if its got a decent amount of life left
The one I ordered today arrives tomorrow. The late one I took out was almost new. Just thought it was funny we were both doing opposite at the same time.
No prob, I'll check but think its about 2mm, as I was thinking the clutch I'd taken out looked ok and fairly recent, but changed it as a matter of course whilst its out, not thinking I'd be doing it twice!
