It's no fun being forced to move matey. Same here, though at least I get to choose when to a certain extent. After 20 years in the same spot which is the longest I've ever stayed in one house I have no idea where I'm going to go. A year on and still no idea.
Cheers for all your replys people its helping me keep a bit more positive I went for a drop in appointment at cab this morning and have a proper appotment with them next week Lef is right no normal person would want to live here pmsl The house was empty for two years before we moved in and nothings selling on the housing market round here at all So were hoping to be lucky enough to find somewhere else and leave the landlord with an empty property which may not sell Malc its up for 170 grand
No idea what this is as at work and have the volume off. But sending some good vibes Psychic TV — Good Vibrations
We have a house that we rent out and have been told that we can't put it on the market to sell untenanted if the tenants have 3 months or more to run on the lease. So, I think the terms of your lease will tell you where you stand there. Otherwise they would have to sell it with a sitting tenant. Most leases are for a set period - normally 6 months - and then roll on monthly. We were also told that we may have to reduce the rent for any tenants if we did want to market the house because of the inconvenience to them. I'm sue CAB will be able to help.
on a positive note if my landlord did not chuck me out I would still be there ,it kinda gave me the motivation to find something better and more perminent... we all come to the cross roads of life ,sometimes we choose which road to take ,sometimes someone else does...
Good luck no chance you could buy it at a reduced rate due to no hassle I rent a house out for my Mum& dad and use a 6 mouth contract a longer one is a right pain if you have to get them out. After the 6 months i leave it to run on a rolling month and i think i have to give 2 months notice and they have to give a mouth. So i doubt he has done anything wrong just would of been a nice thing if he had told you, if he gets a sale he can give you notice and the sale will take that long. Mind you he has to give you written notice for him or any agent to enter the house so dont let anyone view with out notice As said you get good tenants and i try to keep them and you get bad i have lost rent money and had to replace kitchens etc for bad ones.
Cheers everyone Were going to look at a place tmw which may be a step up for us and better for bus routes and the schools etc It has a double garage which means i could have a workshop and my tools and equipment neat and tidy once again Its next door to a pub so if we go for it i may be missing from the forum from time to time
