Not what you said but fair enough.
The guy my old man hit was actually not too badly hurt. He never got on a bike again though as his feelings of invincibility were somewhat dented!

  3. Sorry if it came across like that, when I type I get in a frame of mind that I think everybody knows what I'm thinking...a fallacy I know, but it takes allsorts to make a packet ;D

I hit a car on my Yam 125 when I was 17, broke a leg...got fixed, then broke the other one a few months later, I learn't and carried on, was only having kids that temporarily persuaded me hang up me helmet...until they are teens, then the freedom and wind in my hair will overwhelm me again 8)

  4. I think if there's sirens and light coming up behind you and the only way they can get past is if you edge through a red light and pull to the side safely then that's what I do otherwise I mount the curb to pull to one side... There was a traffic light (temporary) near me which was on a quiet wide back road, you can see at least 200 yards in front of you... I went through that because it was safe and broken so would be sat there all bloody night... I had 1 complete idiot who was third in the queue as the lights had just turned red, he mounted the curb and undertook me and the person in front...I actually couldn't believe what he did... Ot was absolute madness... White BMW young Asian male...not one for stereotypes but my god they're the worst...

Always get your ass out the way.

For this reason I try the leave enough room between me and the deaf sod in front also gives you room to pull out around the broke down Y2. :D

  6. I have noticed in recent years I am behind a driver at red lights who has decided to stop about a full car length before the line in the road. Is this something the new drivers are being taught these days?
I've got mixed feeling about it, you will be safer if rear ended, less likely to be pushed into traffic, and you can more easily move for emergency vehicles, other times I think its a waste of road space, could be making the queue back up further than it needs to causing problems behind.
