Slipped disc(s) sciatic nerve damage!

  1. Bad ish back getting into my late thirties , last ten years I've been swimming a lot, freestyle mainly a mile a day and no bad back any more at all. I think it's because it strengthens your core muscles around your stomach and back (like Pilates ) and this keeps everything in place, oxygenated and supple. I bet fish don't get bad backs.

Disclaimer. I don't know what I'm talking about as usual.

  2. sounds painful. my mate 4 months ago had a 52 seater u turn on him, he has 3 broken vertebras 7 cracked ribs a new knee, and bolts in his shins,
he was on morphine. and believe it or not just been for a week in cyprus, how the eck he manages the pain i do not know.

  3. I have had a bad back with some damaged discs for about 20 years. I found that Acupuncture & massage can work really, really well. Much better than pain killers.
I used a guy in I think it was Romford, he isn't there now but the practice is:

I will definitely go back to them when mine goes again...

  6. Well I went to see the specialist today....I have a MRI booked for the 28th of this month and follow up a week later!
Dr said he thinks another slipped disc and it's pushing on my sciatic nerve, possible surgery :(

  9. In your club now....

After pushing it a bit at work and starting to get ill - man flu - my back gave out this
Morning lifting child 1 up the stairs.

Had a quick lie down to assess and then proceeded to unload the dishwasher- OH MY DAYSspasm type thing going on at RHS base of back
And funny leg going down leg.

Try and get in to friendly osteopath soon as as that normally sorts me. Been quite some time since had trouble last time.

  11. Good luck and hang in there.

I think my bad issue is non disc related and should respond well to osteopath - has in past.

Bit of a drag having a bad back and a manual job....

Think I'll watch 'a place in the sun' and consider selling up and getting fatter on the costa del sol.
