My inner lock catch has never gone down to lock the van from the inside. Started taking it apart a bit earlier and realised it may be quite a lot of work. It just won't go down - like it's stuck. Any ideas? That's as far as it moves
It's easier than it looks, pull it off and give it a clean. You may have something stuck behind there.
yeah i tried to - but it stayed attached ... not really sure how its all linked and didnt want to break it - or not be able to get it all back together
How well does the interior handle work? It might need tightening. If the bar that works the catch doesn't return fully then the interior lock switch doesn't work. Got mine out and in front of me.
Hi i had problems with mine last week and solved it. first open the sliding door get a screw driver and lock the latch at the back of the door manually then turn the door handle to operate the dead lock to see if the dead lock works ok a bar should slide out on top of the hook latch and the lock lever should work this was all working fine on mine i was scratching my head for a while and had all the mech off like you but found that when the door was shut the dead lock bar was fouling the locking plate that is on the frame and this was stopping the lock switch from operating had to take several tempts to adjust plate and also file it a little all works perfect know hope you can under stand all that good luck any prob pm me Rob
for the early door locks to lock from the inside, you have to engage the dead bolt... you do this by (on yours) rotating the inner handle in a clockwise motion (opposite to opening the door) inner lock should then engage
Wow - 3 years of van ownership and I thought the lock was broken. Now I know how to lock the van from inside. Thanks all!
