  1. What's Jimmy Savile, Maggie Thatcher and Aurther Scargille got in common?

    The punchline is offensive

it does seem amazing that nobody said anything while he was alive, the evidence does seem to be stacking up but how the heck it was brushed aside baffles me.

now then, i did sort of re ignite this thread to discuss sensibly the topic in hand as it was news worthy, as it happens upon reflection i guess it was probably silly, i did wonder though why this was the only forum out of the many i use there wasn't a jimmy thread, i'm guessing the big jangle jangle of keys is on the way if we get onto kiddy fiddle jokes.

It's no surprise is it? The Beeb is chokka with this sort of thing.
I went to TOTP when a friend was record label co-owner of a band at No.1. The manager of said band was wandering around the audience of 14 yr old girls VERY publicly masturbating and no-one batted and eyelid.

That must have been more recent. In his last documentary he had a brick.

  18. I met him once, in the 70's and he never put anything up my trouserleg. I quite liked him and the accusations now coming to light, I really don't know what to make of.
I've heard the stories from claimed victims and read the stuff from the hang em high pitchfork brigade and in all the coverage not once have I read or heard anything relating to "the context of the time" they are supposed to have happened.
If they did happen, it still doesn't make it right by todays standards of course but, thirty or forty years ago the whole fabric of society was different, more relaxed in many ways.
I heard tonight that Stoke Manderville Hospital are thinking of withdrawing his charity status because of the "ward rounds" he gave the staff, back in the day. "Which one is gonna be invited into Jimmys little cubicle this week" was a quote on the BBC news. Thing is, even back then, the word "no" was available for general use as well as it is today.
But then I'm the sort of person that always tries to find good in someone, which is completley the opposite way of thinking today.
    Just my thoughts.

  19. Hang him I say, oh too late sorry. :(
