Silicone Rocker Gaskets

  1. That’s what I use em for. Good to give em a wire brush and paint after a couple of years!

  2. That's pretty much where mine leaks :(

What this arrowed bit? Some people think their cover is bent and bend it in to match the rest. Doh!

I don't see anything bottom right corner apart from the tab (which I have wondered if it's for pulling them off the heads)?
Perhaps yours are/were upside down then ( i.e. logo the right way up ha-ha).

  4. Sorry, my bad, it leaks where the gasket has gone in the photo.

I did notice the "vent" you pointed out, every day is a school day.

Rocker covers eh? Who would have thought they could be so complicated to deal with!
At least type-1 covers will only fit one way up.

My excuse spending so long looking at the damn things, servicing OPs that wouldn't want the oil leaks etc. When you only get one go and it drives off...

  10. I drove all the way to Greece with my newly fitted VEGE assuming I'd cocked up something .....
Mucho head scratching and 2000 miles later I finally sussed out that issue with tangs , bent them back and cured the annoying drip ...

  12. I'm glad it's not just me

Mines a 1600 and has a cut-out on the upper lip which is where the expanding gasket escaped from . Utter crap and even moreso on a T1 but it could actually work on a T4 with a 'sealed' rim ??

  13. Possibly, I reckon you'd get away with it, if they were glued in place.

I did try three times and they did the same thing each time

All I can say is, that, once again, Einstein was correct, repeating the same experiment multiple times and expecting a different answer is a sign of insanity , definitely the amazing expanding gaskets, no doubt!

  14. I. Have read there is also a right and wrong way the bar is fitted. The middle of the bar must show a sad face. Hope this helps.

IIRC when are incorrect it's very obvious on a T4 as they hit the HX and you can't get the cover off.
