Are those Stihl? My other half has them and says they are expensive and like to break!

The bike of our hitchhiker! A fella cycling was knackered and asked if he could hitch a (slow)ride and we said yes. He was from New Zealand, was 65 , had a new-ish knee and was over for his mums 90th. A nice fella, we even let him steer the boat. :)

Ps the canal around Birmingham could be a body double for a landfill site

These heads fit various machines, as they come with adapters.
Mine don’t break, they wear out.

  6. Could you make an ali or steel one.?

If you decide to to venture down the Stratford canal, do let me know. It's about 50yards from my house.

Walked up a mountain today and picked the right one this time as I could actually see more than a foot in front of my face. Pen y fan.

  11. They're hard to break but now even harder - nay impossible to fix due to spares becoming unobtainable ....

    Manufactured in Ukraine

These are made by Shindaiawa. Easy to get hold of, but under a different name, now.

Bloomin brilliant Malc. You're really getting back into it.:D It is a fabulous walk, done it in the snow and 30C heat.

Oddly enough, yesterday I was looking at a mountain bike route called The Gap that takes me up there.

I struggled and stopped quite a lot. It took me two hours to get up there and an hour down, but I did it and three months ago I lay in a hospital bed waiting for them to cut my leg off, I couldn’t walk to the shop 200 yards away and they gave me this chance, I’m doing my best to take it and get ready for the HGV treadmill test.

I couldn’t and have never been able to cycle up something like that, good on you mate!
