Began the long bit of my trip up to Durham today, from the Park4Night app found this great pub, the Waterfront Inn Near Gainsbourgh. Just £8 per night (£15 with hook up) Toilets open all night and a sink to do the washing up. Friendly landlady and locals. Apparently there is a microbrewery up the road so just off to find it!

 

When I was in my late 20s had a lovely couple of neighbours Hermi ( Hermione ) and Frank. Both in their late 70’s . Frank was in the RAF and met Hermi in Sudetenland. Related some horrible stories. Hermi would bake me what I thought was a “Googluff “ most weeks. Mmm, yours brings back memories ..thanks.
