Alright down there but on one trip along that section, at about 1am, we had some idiot running up and down the roof.
I ended up chasing 3 of them along the tow path, me in my pants brandishing the tiller, until I realised if they turned and stopped and saw a semi naked old bloke they'd have probably just laughed, dispossessed me of said brass pole and it wouldn't have ended well!
They'd actually untied our ropes and I returned to find the boat swung out across the canal. Oh how we laughed!

 

Took George Doka to Wales today. He's good at carrying gearboxes
M54 was closed so it was an interesting drive back in places. Rural Shropshire is lovely..

 

Sounds funny now, but could have been a nightmare.

Can't trust those Midlanders

 

I may be buying a boat soon, for actually living on full time.....its a long story, but I'm getting divorced and retiring, but as I live in a fire service house, ill be homeless too....a boat seems the best option until the divorce is settled....im excited, but I have loads of stuff! Wheres it all going to go? Where do I do my fettling?

 

Yeah....i have space at my mums for the important stuff, and will give loads away to relatives......i hate throwing nice toot though!

It's cleansing for the soul. I cleared out a 4 bed double fronted Victorian house with rammed cellars, 5 sailing dinghies, 1 car, garden office with 3 networked work stations and all the furniture, printers, plotters, 1 bus, 3 VW resto workshop units...
I just have tools now and fettle the bus in a marina car park. I miss having an indoor space to work on the van and/or a little storage for the odd thing but that's life.

Two yesterday, plus one huge thing further out to sea.

 

Nothing more satisfying than a good clear out. I could happily live in a room with a bed, one chair and table.
