I've been thinking of ways to cover the rough paint low down on the van without going for the total respray look, Baywatcher has sent me a picture he found and i quite like it, it would cover the lower area where the paint is rubbish (or at least break it up) i can't imagine it would cost that much to have made in vinyl?, what opinions do you have please? This pic shows the mis matched paint. This is why it's mis matched. This is what i'm thinking of copying. Serious or silly answers helpful, including it still looks poo etc etc... K+ if it makes me smile or makes me come to my senses.
When I read the beginning of the thread I thought no way. But now having seen the picture I think it would actually look really cool ...go for it!
plus points for telling me why though, ignoring the fact it's brown, and being serious for just a moment if we can.....would the stripes do what i want which is detract from the bad paint, or would it draw you to see it more? i don't want stripes because they are "in" or because i like them specifically, i'm just looking at ways to hide the bad paint cheaper than a paint job, my aim with the van has changed recently, i'm gonna use it as it is with basic maintainance then in say 5 years? do a proper resto on it...if i've still got it then.....
It's your camper with my stripes. A perfect combination! Go for it, might not be 100% original but it is still champagne and in keeping.
Mmmmm, go faster stripes C Just had a thought Mid Life Junior has got a Pin Striping Kit, the ones with wheels and magnetic lines to butt up against, Im sure he would be happy for you to borrow it....
Not a fan of stripes generally but I think those look pretty good. They would hide the paint variation pretty well because they are different colours too and fairly wide. I actually like them. I doubt if the name calling would stop though. Rickystripespoo
